16 Reasons To Have Faith In God

Faith is obeying God: Reasons To Have Faith In God

For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Faith is obeying God even when it doesn’t make sense.

When our lives are going well, it’s easy to have faith in God.

We feel His presence and know that He is good.

But when trials and hardships come our way, it can be difficult to maintain that same level of faith.

Maybe you’re facing a difficult situation right now and wondering why God allows bad things to happen to good people.

Or maybe you doubt His existence altogether because you don’t see how a loving God could allow so much pain and suffering in the world.

The question is, do you know God intimately enough to have an unshakeable faith in Him, no matter what life throws your way?

Are you meditating on His Word daily and spending time in prayer so that you can grow closer to Him?

If you’re struggling with your faith, know that you’re not alone.

Millions of people around the world have gone through (and are currently going through) similar challenges.

The good news is that there is hope even in the darkest of times.

The Bible tells us that faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)

In other words, faith is believing in something even when we can’t see it with our own eyes.

It’s a decision to trust God even when life is hard.

Here are 16 reasons why you should have faith in God, even if you don’t understand everything that’s happening in your life right now.

Reasons to have faith in God

1. He is always with you

No matter what storms you face in life, God is always with you.

He will never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

A great way to stay in touch with God is to read His Word, the Bible.

And talking with Him through prayer.

2. God is sovereign and in control

No matter how chaotic the world around us seems, you can have peace knowing that God is sovereign and in control.

He is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13).

God is also our Refuge and Strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

3. God is good

We know that God is good because the Bible tells us so.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him (Psalm 34:8).

And we see evidence of His goodness all around us, in the beauty of His creation.

Only human beings have marred that perfection with sin.

4. He knows what’s best for you

God has a plan for us all.

He knows what is best for you, even when you don’t (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Have faith that even when things are tough, God is working everything out for your good (Romans 8:28).

5. God always keeps His promises

The part of having faith is believing that God will do what He says He will do.

When you are reading the Scripture, take note of all the promises God has made.

There are hundreds of them!

And He is always faithful to keep His promises.

6. He is a merciful God

Another reason to have faith in God is because of His mercy.

God is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness (Exodus 34:6).

He is always ready to forgive us when we repent and turn back to Him (1 John 1:9).

If God judged us for our sins, we would all be condemned.

But because of His mercy, you can have hope for eternal life.

7. He is a loving God

One of the main reasons we can have faith in God is because He loves us unconditionally.

God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him (1 John 4:16).

God’s love for us is so great that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins (John 3:16).

If you have ever wondered how much God loves you, just look at the cross.

Think of how many times God has saved you from things that could have harmed you.

8. He hears your prayers

You can talk to God anytime, anywhere.

He is always listening, and He hears your prayers (1 John 5:14).

Prayer is a great way to stay in communication with God.

He will answer your prayers in His perfect timing and according to His perfect will (Isaiah 65:24).

9. He gives you peace

Another benefit of having faith in God is that He gives you peace.

You can have peace even when the storms of life are raging around you (John 16:33).

And you can have peace knowing that God is in control and that He has a plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11).

10. He is a powerful God

When you feel weak, God is always there to give you strength (Isaiah 40:29).

He is the Almighty God, and there is nothing too difficult for Him (Jeremiah 32:17).

No matter what challenges you are facing in your life, God is more than able to help you overcome them.

11. You can have hope in Him

The main reason to have faith in God is hope.

Of course, you can have hope in many things.

For example, you may hope for your government, but only God is reliable and trustworthy.

Your government may let you down, but God never will.

He is the only one who can give you true hope (Psalm 62:5).

He is the only one who can give you eternal life (John 3:16).

If you have faith in God, you can have hope for today and for eternity.

12. God is faithful

God is faithful, and He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Even when you are faithless, He remains faithful (2 Timothy 2:13).

You can always count on God to keep His promises.

He will never fail you or let you down.

13. You need faith to please God

Reasons To Have Faith In God

Yes, you need faith to please God

It is impossible to please Him without faith, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

If you want to please God, you must have faith in Him.

You must believe that He exists and that He is worthy of your trust.

14. Faith is a gift from God

Faith is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8).

It is not something we can earn or achieve on our own.

But it is something that God freely gives to those who seek Him.

If you want to have faith, ask God to give you the gift of faith (James 1:5-6).

15. Miracles happen when you have faith

When you have faith in God, miracles happen.

God can use your faith to do the impossible (Matthew 17:20).

All things are possible for you that believe (Mark 9:23).

Do you need a miracle in your life?

Pray and ask God to increase your faith.

16. Faith is the key to answered prayer

One of the main purposes of faith is to receive answers to our prayers.

Jesus said, “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).

When we pray with faith, we can be confident that God will answer our prayers.

He may not always answer our prayers the way we want Him to, but He will always answer them in accordance with His perfect will.
