Signs You are Chosen by God

Signs You are Chosen by God

Believe it or not, no one can become a devout Christian without God’s help.

Yes, it takes God’s grace for Christians to keep believing and doing what God wants them to do.

John 6:44 says, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

In order to become a Christian, you must be first chosen by God.

But how can you know if God has chosen you?

You heard of people who were once hard-hearted sinners but then had a life-changing experience with God and became devout Christians.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering if you’re one of the chosen ones.

Here are some sure signs that you have been chosen by God:

1. You Love Jesus More Than Anything Else

The first and most important sign that you are chosen by God is your love for Jesus.

If you truly love Him, you will obey His commands (John 14:15).

You will also keep His word in your heart (Psalm 119:11).

Your love for Jesus should be so great that you are willing to die for Him (John 15:13).

If you cannot even imagine living without Him, then it is a sign that you are truly chosen by God.

2. You Are Willing to Sacrifice Your Life for the Gospel

Signs You are Chosen by God

Every person God has chosen is willing to sacrifice their life for the sake of the gospel.

Just as Jesus died for our sins, we also need to be willing to die for Him (1 John 3:16).

This does not mean that we should go out and look for martyrdom.

But if the situation calls for it, we should be ready to give up our lives rather than deny our faith.

3. You Discover Your Spiritual Gifts

You know your calling and spiritual gifts.

This is not to say that you are perfect at using them.

But you are at least aware of the fact that God has given you certain gifts, and He wants you to use them for His glory.

You may be gifted in teaching, preaching, evangelism, or serving.

In other words, you have a passion and desire to use your gifts to serve God and others.

You may not be aware of all your gifts yet.

But as you grow in your faith, you will begin to discover more and more gifts that God has given you.

“Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery.” (1 Timothy 4:14)

4. You Are Fruitful in Your Ministry

Signs You are Chosen by God

Once you have discovered your spiritual gifts and have been obedient to use them in the body of Christ, you will be fruitful.

One of the signs that you are chosen by God is that He will use you mightily in ministry.

Your obedience and faithfulness will result in His blessing and anointing on your life, and you will see the fruit of your labor for His kingdom.

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

5. Your Life is a Living Testimony

If you are truly chosen by God, your life will be a walking testimony of His faithfulness.

You will see answered prayers and miracles as a result of your faith.

Your life itself will be a living example of God’s goodness.

People will be drawn to the light that shines from within you and they will see God at work in your life.

Testimonies of God’s goodness are a powerful witness to the lost and searching.

As you live your life for God, you will be a shining example of His love and grace.

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

6. You Experience Persecution

Once you choose to be part of God’s people, you will experience persecution.

The world will hate you because it first hated Jesus (John 15:18-19).

As you boldly proclaim the gospel and live out your faith, there will be those who oppose you.

But remember, Christ Himself was persecuted, and He promised His followers that they would experience the same.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:10)

7. You Are Hated by the World

“If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” (John 15:19)

If you are living for Christ and obeying His commands, the world will hate you.

You will be considered odd, unrealistic, and intolerant because of your beliefs.

But don’t be discouraged!

Remember that Christ Himself was hated by the world, and He has promised to always be with you.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

8. You Have a Desire to Please God

If you are truly chosen by God, you will have a desire to please Him in all that you do.

You will want to obey His commands and follow His will for your life.

You will no longer want to live in sin, but you will desire to live a life that is pleasing to God.

“No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.” (1 John 3:6)

9. You Abide in Christ

Do you abide in Christ?

This means that you remain in Him—in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers.

You are not perfect, but you strive to keep Christ at the center of your life.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7)

10. You Have a Good Reputation

Of course, this doesn’t mean that everyone will always speak well of you.

But generally speaking, those who know you would say that you are a good person—someone who is honest, trustworthy, and kind.

People see Christ in you, and as a result, your reputation is good.

“In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden.” (1 Timothy 5:25)

11. You are At Peace with God

If you have truly been chosen by God, you will have peace in your heart—even in the midst of trials and difficulties.

You may not always understand what He is doing, but you trust that He knows what is best.

You know that He is sovereign and in control, and you rest in His perfect will for your life.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

12. You Are Humble and Obedient

Are you humble and obedient to God?

Those who are truly chosen by Him are not proud or self-seeking (Philippians 2:3).

Instead, they are humble and obedient to His Word.

They are also willing to serve others instead of being served (Mark 10:45).

This is because they know that everything they have comes from God, and they are just His servants.

13. You Remain Faithful in Trials and Suffering

Another sign that you are chosen by God is your faithfulness in trials and suffering.

Those who are truly chosen by Him will not give up when things get tough.

They will persevere through hardships and continue to trust in God (James 1:12).

They know that trials and suffering are a part of life, but they also know that God is always with them.

This is what gives them the strength to keep going.

14. You Bear Fruit for the Kingdom of God

Those who are chosen by God will also bear fruit for His kingdom.

This means that they will be used by God to bring people to Christ and help them grow in their faith (John 15:8).

This may involve leading others to Christ, teaching them about the gospel, or serving in the church.

But whatever it is, those who are chosen by God will be used by Him to further His kingdom.

15. Nothing Can Separate You From The Love Of God

You know that you are truly chosen by God when nothing can separate you from His love.

No matter what happens in this life, you know that you are safe in the arms of God.

This is because His love for you is perfect and never-ending.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

If you have experienced the love of God, then you can be sure that you are one of His chosen ones.

16. You Have a Deep Longing for God

If you have a deep longing for God, it is a sign that you are chosen by Him.

Someone who is truly chosen by God will yearn for His presence. (Psalm 63:1)

They will also desire to know Him more deeply. (Jeremiah 29:13)

This is because they know that only in Him will they find true satisfaction.

Final thoughts on signs you are chosen by God

These are just some of the signs that you may be chosen by God.

Of course, this is not an exhaustive list, and you may have experienced other things that indicate that you are one of His chosen ones.

But one thing is for sure: if you have been chosen by God, you will know it.

You will feel His presence in your life, and you will be changed by His love.
